I've done an estimate of how long it would take me to drive to Miami Florida through Mapquest but for some reason I'm having trouble believing the total miles. Anyone here ever drive from Southern NC down to Miami Florida or close to that? Can you give me a rough estimate how many hours it would take me to drive down there?

Forgot to add that MapQuest's results were a total of 817 miles and that it would take close to 14 hrs from Southern NC. Is that right? Or close to right?

Buy a map for $3. I would trust that first. The mileage sounds right, but mapquest may be figuring in the average drive time based upon stopping to eat, sleep, etc.

12 - 14 hours about right. Don't remember how long it too me and my friends spring break but it was a long time. Look a Florida on a map and realize that it's a pretty big state going north to south. Factor in a little traffic in a few places and stops for gas, food, and nature's call.

I drove from Northern VA to southern FLA and I remember vaguely remember it taking about 15 hours. So if you're going all the way down to Miami, that could be almost 14 hours.

eax, buy a map and do the math. What is so hard about that? When I was in my late teens/early twenties, we used to drive from Cleveland to Miami in 18 hours! That was non-stop of course, and the national speed limit was 55! Just point the car south and go! What's the problem?
