floppy seeking when installing new hardware

How do I disable the floppy as the default location to look for drivers when I hit browse. This is very annoying because 99.999% of the time, my drivers are from my "Keepers/drivers" directory. Stoopid PC always does a lengthy floppy seek and then, when I tell it to look somewhere else, the dumb thing does ANOTHER floppy seek.

Well, since I don't know my registry by heart, I searched it for a:. The only thin I found that seems to point in any sort of the right direction is
local machine/system/mounted devices

I am running B2296 ATM, but if someone can only find the answer for 98, I'll switch back just to see it 🙂
