my case got knocked a little bit and then i turned i tried to turn it off then it went into standby, then i did it iagain and i did a cold shut, now everytime i load windows my computer it searches the floppy drive, this is after the initial floppy drive search in the boot, this is happening when windows loads how do i stop this? it is winme,,, thx

did you try to go into bios and disable "boot up floppy seek" ? you may want to check that.

hm i worded it wrong sorry, i mean when windows starts on the desktop it just randomly starts searching the floppy, i have it set to search on computer startup but not in winme, even when i take the boot option out of the initial boot it still searches in win me

does it try to search the floppy just before you log into Windows (if you have that option on) or just before the desktop appears?

Go into start/settings/taskbar and start menu/advanced tab and hit "clear"

You must have had a disk in the floppy and it has cached something into the documents folder.

It will search for it at each bootup, like you said.
