P Peter Elite Member Oct 15, 1999 9,640 1 0 Nov 30, 2004 #3 Yep. Classical mistake, cable on backwards. Mind the colored ribbon - this goes onto the side that says "1" on the drive. btw, as long as the drive is in that state, it'll erase all disks you feed it, write protected or not.
