My company introduce a P2 machine from NEC ten years ago to handling data sorting. The system frequently load data into floppy disk for retrieval by our other branches . However, we discover that all the floppy are created in 1.0 Mb format instead of 1.44 and , they are not readable by any other computer at home .

Can anyone help to introduce any software so that we can convert them into 1.44 format ?

There is a DOS program called CopyQM that should be able to copy any diskette.

Just google on- copyqm -and you should find a place to download. If not, PM me with your email address and I'll attach it to an email. It's not very big.

1MB is the size of the old 720K floppies before formatting isn't it? 2MB for the 1.44MB floppy?

If so, any PC floppy drive should still read them.

I'm pretty sure that "WinImage" supports reading "odd" formats, as long as your drive will.

Another choice would be to dd the information to a new disk using a linux software cd.
