Hi I have a problem with my floppy drive.
I have a Win ME system.
The floppy drive worked fine previously.
I installed a CDR burner.
I also installed an ethernet card.

Now everytime I try to access the a: drive it says to please insert disk. However the floppy disk will be there. Even worse the drive light does not even light up. So I checked the System icon in My Computer.
Here is what it says:

Drive X is Using MS-DOS Compatibility Mode File System

I tried to search for an updated driver but I already have the most updated one.
I also tried to remove/reinstall the floppy drive controller. But no luck.

Can someone help me fix this problem please?
Much thanks for any solution.

P.S.
There is no conflicts or errors when I checked the Device Manager. The Performance Tab is where I saw the Drive X is Using MS-DOS Compatibility Mode File System. And I can't even access the a: drive now. Even when I switch to DOS I can't access it.

Is the radical solution to just partition/defrag hard drive and reinstall Windows?
