floppy error (80) question

This just started happening on my Abit BX-133

I tried switching floppy drives but same problem persists. Its not the power cable because I can get the light to stay on if I put the IDE cable in wrong, but when it comes to bootup, I get that error. I can't try switching cables because all my other floppy cables dont match the one needed for this mobo. I guess I will try getting a new one from the store this afternoon.

The one thing I have a question about is wether or not it has anything to do with the I/O. If I disconnected the IDE cable and power cable completely, this error still shows.

I cannot get into bios at all.

Hi, I haven't seen a different floppy cable in over 20 years. Floppy cable is 32 pins cable select (CS) with a twist at one end. The twist has to be between the A: floppy and the MB. The other connector will be B:. Hope this helps, Jim
