Floppy drive problem

I had a system w/o a floppy. I bought a sony 3.5 1.44mb floppy and installed it. It is enable in the bios and windows device manager says its working alright, but the light stays on all the time and it will not recognize disks. Any suggestions - am I missing something?

Come to think of it, even if something were wrong with my floppy drive, I probably wouldn't notice for a few months or even close to a year.

LOL!

I have to agree with you there!

Come to think of it I probably wouldnt notice anything was wrong with it....ever.

I have yet to use it for the past 3 years 😕

Just a note, reading disks while the cable is reversed is almost always death to the floppy disk, anything you tried to use, varify it still works! 🙂
