Floppy Drive on KT7

hello,

I have a had a kt7 (non raid) working for quite a while now but have discovered a problem with it. Although ive had it for a few months ive only just found out that the floppy drive doesnt work. The green light is permenantly on and when i put in a boot disk to put up with it just ignores it. In windows when i try tto view the contents of the floppy disk it just hangs for a minute or so anbd then asks me to insert a disk. I was assuming it was a hardware problem but ive tried a different drive and messing about with the cable but with no luck. Does anyone know what might be the problem? I expect it will be something so stupidly simple ive overlooked it so another opinion woul dbe useful.

Cheers,
Tom

Try checking your cable connections again. The end without the twist is attached to the floppy controller - the connector right after the twist connects to the floppy drive. Also, make sure your BIOS is set up correctly.

If you have the correct end on the drive, then you probably have the connector on the floppy upside down. The side with the red stripe should be on side furthest away from the open side of the case.
