Floppy Drive Light Always On

I just installed a Mitsumi floppy drive into my new computer. The problem I am having is that the light always stays on from the moment i push the power button, and it won't let me boot off of a windows boot disk. My motherboard is the MSI K7T Turbo and I need to use it so I can flash the bios. Thanks.

Just had this same problem. Just plugged in the connector the only way it could go in. Nothing but a light always on. Finally, after almost a day, figured out that the cable connectors were installed on the cable backwards. I actually had to cut off the little notch that was on the connector so I could plug it in the way it was actually supposed to go in.

Don't feel bad.. the fact that we all can answer immediately what happens when you plug in the cable backwards shows that we've all done it before.
