Stuck a floppy in my drive.
Everything poped out except the metallic cover that slides back and forth. Any way to get this out?
Floppy drive no longer works 🙁
 
You might try taking the drive out of the machine and opening it up.

Or, you can just replace it with a new FDD... they can be had for as little as $7 online.
 
It's almost not worth the effort - a new floppy drive costs only about $12. Just replace it. The floppy is no good anyway with the slide bent off.
 
Not so much the money, it will cost $12 shipped.

just a small pita to switch out, just wanted to make sure there is not an easy wat to get it out with a screwdriver or something w/o getting a new drive
