I think your best bet for both of your problems is to get an external cd-rom and floppy drive that uses USB connectivity.
As long as you have a usb port, it will work. Just be careful about the version of USB it implicates (1.0 or 2.0?)
Frightcrawler, would an external USB CD-ROM allow me to install Windows 98SE from CD? Keep in mind that this is a 166MHz Pentium laptop with a BIOS dated 1997.
