Something freaky happened, my floppy drive had an electrical fire, and shorted itself out luckily my computer was saved by myself, but it smells, warning 8 year old floppys are easy to catch on fire, lol has anyone else had a computer fire? im guessing so..

no not a fire in a floppy 😉

1. i was adjusting pots on my friends psu, told my friend not to touch caps, he doesnt listen, blown psu and friend laying there stunned, me roflmao lol

2. testing out friends new 56x cdrom, cd just blows up literally into small pieces in the cdrom drive lol

Yeah, I started a small fire in a computer once...was replacing a bad fan on my old AT power supply, and plugged the fan connector in backwards. Booted up without noticing, and suddenly the screen went really wavy, loud pop, and one of the components inside flared up for a few seconds before putting itself out. Lesson: double-check everything before turning it on and then again just after turning on the power 🙂

Like ChampionAtTufshop said, I have also seen a Cd blow up. Well, more like see the aftermath. A system I built for someone was no longer reading CD's so I go over, and remove the cd-rom. Little flakes of silver sand come spilling out. He says he tried to copy over a cd that had a crack.

Well, now you tell Me! You moron!

BTW: Was this an electrical fire or a dust fire?
