Floppy Drive does not work.

Few days ago my floppy drive stoped working. The light of the drive always works, instead of working only when reading a floppy disc. It cant read floppy discs at all, when I try to do so, win tells me "please insert a disc into drive a:". In the beginnig I thought the problem is with the drive itself, so I bought a new one, but it doesnt work to. what might it be?

Have you tried a new or different floppy cable? Also, check the floppy disk drive properties in Device manager.

I had a problem like that when I had the floppy cable connected up-side-down (my cheap-o floppy just has pins, so it's possible).

<< all the symptoms of a reversed floppy cable.. >>

He said the first one stopped working, so i doubt its reversed.
