Floppy drive can not see hard drive in DOS HELP ME PLEASE

Ok, I just reformatted my harddrive and partitions it into two parts one 20 gig one 60 gig using NTFS file system. I partitioned the drive using western digital floppy disk. I then installed windows xp. When it asked whether to replace the file system or leave it intact I chose to leave it and just install windows xp.

I installed Norton Ghost 2003 trying to image my hard drive and backup to CDRW. WHen it starts up in DOS it doesnt locate the CDRW.

I made a system boot disk in windows xp like normal when i boot using the boot disk i can not navigate to C:\. It leaves me at A:\ , I type c: and it says invalid....

Why am I not able to navigate to C from A. My other computer has NTFS file system and it could navigate back and forth with no problem.

HOW would I go about being able to NAVIGATE to the C:\?

Why cant my floppy see the hard drive in DOS?

Im sure its possible to navigate somehow to my C:\ using NTFS from a boot disk.

I am trying to get to the DOS prompt so that I can navigate to ghost.exe so that I can try running ghost that way. It looks like the reader just lets me see whats on the drives and does not allow me to run programs through it.

Since I discovered this problem I think that it is related to why ghost will not find any other drives on my computer excpet for A:. Does anyone have experience using Ghost 2003. I also tried using Drive Image 2002 and experienved the same problem.

Ghost 2003 says it is compatible with NTFS. I have no idea why ghost is not picking up any other drives but it must be the same reason why I can't navigate to C: once I'm at the DOS prompt. Is my only option reformatting in FAT32? Please help me.

Thanks SinNisTeR
I just downloaded Ultimate Boot CD, it sure looks like a great FREE program.

I am pretty sure it is IDE. Is there any way to check and make sure?

My motherboard is ASUS A7V266-E I have a western digital hard drive and my CDRW is a plextor px-w1240a. Any ideas why I am having this problem. I have searched the internet and it doesnt seem like this is a common problem or known issue. Any ideas?

To view NTFS partitions in DOS you need to load a NTFS type driver (probably in your config.sys though you might be able to sneak one into your autoexec.bat). One problem is that the Windows driver is larger than a floppy. The link SinNisTeR provided was for an Ultimate Boot CD that probably includes a NTFS driver. There's also a link on that page to a floppy image with a (non-MS) NTFS active reader.

Why am I not able to see the CDRW from ghost when its loaded through DOS. They say its NTFS compatible but I dont think they expect everyone with NTFS to have to go through all these steps. What else is possibly keeping the other drives from coming up/?
