Floppy Disks and Airport Security X-Rays...

Can the X-Ray machines used at airports damage data on floppy disks?

Theoretically they can, but I think they would have to be outputting alot of power to do it. The ones at the airport don't run this high. I've taken both Zip disks and regular floppies through them without any trouble.

It's the same thing with camera film. You have to have sensitive (fast) film for the X-ray machine to pose a problem.
