I just built a new computer and when I first turn it on I get the Floppy disk(s) fail (40) message. I assume I put the cable on incorrectly so I press F1 to continue and then load Windows XP Home Edition on the computer. Once that is done I turn the computer off and check the FDD cables. The cables are on correctly. I try another FDD that I know is good. I get the same error message. I press F1 to boot to Windows and once in Windows I try to access the FDD. I access it just fine and copy some files from the floppy disk to the HD. I reboot and still get the Floppy disk fail message. Any ideas why this message keeps showing up?
