Floppy A: drive not recognizing disks?

Touchdown

Member
I just purchased a new Antec case and also had to purchase a new 3.5 inch floppy (A🙂 drive to fit the case. Everything is working ok, accept when I insert a 3.5 disk into the drive it's not being recognized. I keep getting a message asking to insert a disk into Drive A: However the drive is showing up in Windows Explorer and My Computer. I've checked the cables...any suggestions? Thanks

hmm.. i was going to say, flip the cables, or try a new one.. but since it is reconized.. i am not real sure.. try different disk.. or just a new floppy.. only like 10 bucs!! 🙂 goood luck

Ya, I thought it was weird too that it would show up in My Computer but not recognize a disk is inserted. I think I'll have to return it and get another unless anyone has any other ideas?

I got two new antec cases awhile ago and had the same problem, but when I pulled the drive cage down they would recognize it, turned out the drive looked like it was all the way in, the disk would go in and click but it wasn't lined up right, so I had to mess with the screws and adjust it until it worked properly, there wasn't anything actually wrong with the drive itself.
