Floopy disk problem

Hi guys, I need some advice here.. Sometimes my FDD can't read Floopy disk, it says that it is not formatted while my friend can read it perfectly. Thnx in advance. ^_^

It is a standard Floopy Disk Drive. I have forgotten it's brand, maybe mitsubishi or NEC. It is about 3 months old. I don't say that it always fail, if u keep reinsert the disk or reboot your computer, The FDD can work. So I think it's not going to computer hardware heaven.
I'm using win XP pro, AMD XP 1500+ @1.5 GHZ, MB MSI KT266Pro266 DDR,Mem 512 MB DDR Kingmax,MSI TNT2, WD 40 GB 7200 RPM and of course the FDD.

Mine does that sometimes as well, and just re-inserting it fixes the problem normally. I just live with it though 'cuz the only time I use it is for flashing my BIOS & installing RAID drivers on XP install.

Check your FDD cable and make sure it's correctly and securely attached at both ends. Also check the power supply cable too.

I have checked it, no problem with the FDD cable en Power Supply cable..
Hmm, I think it's ok, It's not a major problem anyway. I can survive with this minor problem.. Thnx all... ^_^
