Floating Flash Ad seen on Technical Support

Looks like you may have spyware. I have never seen anything like it before.

Yeah, no.

It's definitely there. This was on a fresh install of Vista 😉 Haven't had any spyware, ever.

I never see it. I don't use adblock with Seamonkey and Opera's Ad-filtering is disabled. Yet it still hasn't happened to me. The obvious suggestion here is to try one of the two browsers that I am using.

I think the point has been missed. I was quite certain that Anandtech didn't tolerate advertisements like that getting into the media roll and wanted to point it out so they could take it up with the group that places media in these ad spaces. You most likely haven't seen it because it is a total random chance for that to come up across all pages on the site.

When I said "it's definitely there" I was referring to the vast pool of advertisements that can appear at any given time, not that it's always on that particular forum page.

For the last 15 minutesI have been refreshing the technical support page using Internet Explorer (well know for it's friendlyness to ads and spyware) and I have yet to see the ad after dozens of page refreshes.

Well I initially reported it on the 24th and have only seen it that one time and one other later that day. There was another post in the Forum Issues forum by JediYoda on the 25th, so it's conceivable that Anandtech has already taken it up with their advertisers and it is gone.
