float charger

So my battery in my Grand Marquis is dead. Since I got my camry, I rarely drive my Grand Marquis though I try to get to it at least once a week if not every 2 weeks. I was looking to purchase a charger and had a couple of questions:

A) Is this a decent one?

I do plan on using coupons to bring the price down

B ) Can I leave the float charger hooked up to the battery while it's still hooked up in the car? Or should I disconnect the car from the battery?

I was thinking of plugging it into my garage and snaking the wire under the garage door to under the hood of the grand marquis.

I've read that something like those aren't true float chargers, and can still over charge a battery.

You might want to consider something like this:

... but I'd wait for confirmation from a more knowledgeable gear head.

FYI, these seem to be more akin to having the cables installed permanently and simply connecting it to the charger when you need to.
