ROFL!

Sounds like someone is starting to sweat a bit...

President Donald Trump continued working to fortify himself against accusations of legal misdeeds on Thursday, defending himself on Twitter in the dark morning hours and telling an interviewer he'd done nothing wrong.

But as the swirl of legal questions continues to mount, neither the President nor his aides have been able to quell the fallout.

Trump's latest attempt came in a friendly taped interview with Fox News, which was conducted on Wednesday but aired a day later. Trump sought to put distance between himself and his former lawyer Michael Cohen, who admitted to campaign finance crimes in federal court on Tuesday and implicated the President by saying he'd directed the action.

And he sharply decried those who testify against former confidants to ease legal troubles, bemoaning the longstanding practice.

"It's called flipping and it almost ought to be illegal," Trump said in the interview, adding he's witnessed similar scenarios over his decades in public life. "I know all about flipping, 30, 40 years I have been watching flippers. Everything is wonderful and then they get 10 years in jail and they flip on whoever the next highest one is or as high as you can go."

Just think about how stupid that proposal is - to basically make snitching illegal. I'm sure those law enforcement people that he just loves so dearly would love that idea.

This is the president of the United States, saying flipping or helping Law enforcement after you are caught should be illegal.

While there may end up being no change in the polls because of this, it would take at least another few days for polls conducted after Tuesday to be available. I would wait until early next week to despair for the republic.

"Doing illegal things if your name is Donald Trump should be legal!"

Even if Trump is removed from office, you've still got millions that have drunk the Kool-Aid. I read that at Trump's rally Tuesday night, after the Manafort/Cohen stuff, his fans were still chanting "lock her up." It's a cult at this point.

You know it's serious when Trump starts going on the defensive with claims like this. He knows he's been busted, so the only thing he can do is to threaten doom and gloom if justice prevails. Flipping should be illegal! The economy will collapse if I'm impeached! It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic and genuinely damaging to the country.

If you put this statement in the light of the fact that Trump still insists that the Central Park 5 were guilty, the needle on the weird-O-meter crosses the line to surreal.

Was there a clip during recent interview when ranting about states evidence being bad he used a reference to Sammy the Bull? So what he is saying the prosecution of John Gotti was bogus.

Honestly, I really do think Trump believes the concept of clean coal is exactly like that.

He also recently remarked that his followers would go wild in the street w/o his restraining influence.

I can't find the quote but here's his buddy Roger Stone making the pitch-

When he referred to getting Manafort for "little crimes" because they got nothing, like they did to Capone with tax evasion? #CaponeWitchhunt

We're in a situation where he almost HAS to be impeached. All former presidents, and their first ladies, (in his case the third lady) gets Secret Service protection for life. The only exception to this is those that are impeached AND convicted by the Senate.

If he's not impeached, and then indicted and convicted once he's out, can you imagine seeing an inmate with a Secret Service protective detail walking the yard?
