I was working on my home networking when I accidently switched the power cords for the cable modem and Linksys router. The modem kept working but it burned out the router. Here's the wierd thing. The PC connected to the network wouldnt boot, even after I removed the cable. I was in a panic, thinking I had burnt out the motherboard somehow, or broken the RAID stripe. But all that happen is the BIOS had defaulted to a different boot order. I reestablished the RAID boot and it worked fine.
What the heck did I do? Did the extra volatage going through the Linksys do a reset on the (875) motherboard?
Just thankful the machine isnt toast.
