Flippable 24"+ LCD?

The time has come for me to buy a big screen, but I'd like to be able to use it both while sat at my PC, and while sat on the sofa. I can accomplish this by picking it up and rotating the whole thing 180° so it faces the other way, but will invariably knock things over or pull cables out etc etc if I do it a lot.

Is there any screens that

a) have a built in swivel like that

or

b) flip the other way. So I'd push the top of it over and down, and then it'd be facing the other way, and it'd know to invert the signal before it displays it.

cheers 🙂

I don't know of any monitor that will do that. Tilt 90 degree is common but what you describe is, afaik, very uncommon. Maybe a special interest maker produces such a thing but the added cost may be kinda silly when you can just use VESA mount with say a swing arm or something.

Many monitors have the cables going from the back, aiming down. These cables are very thick and being bent upside down without bracing is probably going to put a lot of stress on the plug. Another reason to use a swing arm.

I see the Dell monitors have a built in swivelling base, but only 45° each way or something. I wonder if I could easily modify one to give me the full 180 that I want...
