OK, so here's the deal: We had a baby just over a month ago, and documented it through use of our couple year old Panny HD cam (SD5) and our Canon P&S (IS 780). I am pretty happy with the results but realize it is a total PITA to edit the .mts files, etc.
Anyway the in-laws have been talking about getting a camcorder for use with the new baby. The sister in law suggested that we should get them a FLIP because they are easier to use. Now, my in-laws don't even have a digital camera, and avoid the computer like the plague, they use the Walgreen's throw aways. I don't think digital video is for these folks, but I am not about to make that argument. Regardless, here are the two options we are looking at:
With about a $200 budget
1. Buy them a Flip and a cheap digital P&S.
2. Buy them a nicer P&S (something along the lines of my 780) to both shoot video and pics.
Anybody have experience with this type of equipment?
