Flight simulators?

Anyone keep up with these type of games? I really wanna try out the flying and whatever else simulators they have out there. How close to real are these things? Reason I'm asking is I was watching Tomb Raider 2 last night and at one point someone had to fly a coptor. He said he just had about 100 plus hours of experience on a flight simulator lol. I was wondering if it's close to the real deal?

Real enough for some sickos to train themselves crashing a plane into a tall building.

MS Flight Sim is pretty good. I played the old ones at friends' houses. Then I bought Flight Sim 98. Then I got Flight Sim 2000 when it was free after rebate (FAR). Then I missed getting Flight Sim 2002 when it was FAR a couple months ago 🙁 I haven't played 2000 since late 2002. I gotta reinstall it. And I gotta reinstall MS Train Sim.

MS Flight Sim 2004 is pretty realistic. It has just about every runway in the world, good terrain detail especially for big cities, lots of aircraft (plus you can download tons of them) including helicopters. I hear X-Plane is good too.

I use MS Flight Sim 2004 - with full difficulty the helicoptors are quite a challenge.

To run full graphics requires a hefty machine though - I get about 15fps from a P2.4 + GeForce4 4200
