I've got the Cessna version of the Saitek Pro Flight pedals and they work as expected for rudder pedals... and surprisingly well as throttle & gas using the toe brakes for things like Project CARS.
I imagine the regular Pro Flight pedals are just fine too. I just got the Cessna ones because I'm learning to fly real Cessna 152s... figured it made since to be as accurate as possible. ;)

Actually, I prefer Thrustmaster.

So its like this:

1. Thrustmaster
2. CH
3. Logitech
4. Gravis
5. Saitek
6. MS

MS did make a handful of decent sticks and stuff back in the day, Win95/Win98.

I'm interested in picking up some pedals to go with my Thrustmaster T-Flight X HOTAS stick and throttle. So far I've found the two below on Amazon:

Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals

CH Products Pro Pedals

What do you guys think of these? Anyone have any experience with pedals in general? Thanks.

I own that model of Saitek Pro pedals. I've used them for DCS A-10 as well as DCS Black Shark. They work great, and the pedals are adjustable as far as tension and the length of the pedal itself. I can't think of any complaints, they just work

My current setup is X52 throttle, CH fighterstick, saitek pedals, TrackIR.

The Saitek pedals are fine and adjust to how big my feet are. I'd go CH all else after having the Fighterstick, it's a night and day difference from the Saitek X52's joystick.

Thanks for the info guys. I did decide on the CH pedals. Their biggest complaint seemed to be they were too close together but I don't think that'll be an issue for me.

I should be getting those and a TrackIR v5 in tomorrow, woo!

For now, Wings of Prey and Flight Simulator X. I also play War Thunder but mouse and keyboard are far superior in that game (at least in Arcade, at least at the moment).

If the TrackIR and pedals turn out to work well, I'll also get Rise of Flight.

The pedals should work out for you fine. I dont use pedals. I'm currently playing lock on flaming cliffs 2 while waiting for the track ir. There are some nice profiles for the x52 for lockon.

They work well because lockon doesn't have clickable cockpits and is not as advanced as the dcs a10c.

Once track ir gets in ill be using it mostly in the a10 warthog game.

I still recommend IL2 if you're really into flying. It's about $10 still I believe if you get the 1946 version on steam. Download the HSFX mod and have at it!

I love me some BF109s :)

My buddy has IL-2 and said it was pretty good; I've heard of it before but just I haven't played it yet. Cannot wait to get home and try my new stuff out. I think I will pick up IL-2 since it is so cheap anyway. :)

Haven't had a chance to use the pedals in-game yet because I wasn't able to pick up my package yesterday after work, but I did test them out unplugged today before work. The movement is smoother than I thought it would be and as far as a lot of people saying the pedals are too close together, I don't see any problem with that at all.

For the IL-2 game, all I see on Steam is "IL-2 Cliffs of Dover" for $20.

I never got "IL2 Cliffs of Dover" to perform satisfactorily. It's pretty much an abandoned game now. As with the above comments, I highly recommend the fully loaded "IL2: 1946". I see it on Amazon for $8.

Guess steam took it off their list when COD came out. I really wouldn't recommend COD as not as many people play it/not as many planes are avail/it's no longer being updated. Beautiful game that had a ton of potential, but the devs are working on the sequel. I own both but play IL2:1946 daily because of the plane choices/servers/amount of people playing.

http://www.gog.com/gamecard/il_2_sturmovik_1946 I'd buy it from here.

Update to the latest version, then download HSFX (http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=30) and the ultimate sound mod v3 found on the same forums.

Once that's all done install hyperlobby for the multiplayer side and have fun!

Once you know whether or not you would like to keep playing let me know, I'll set you up for some squad training from the guy who trained me. He's a vietnam vet in his 60's that LOVES this game and loves to teach maneuvers/combat training.

Awesome, thanks for the info man. I'll pick up 1946 as soon as I get home this evening. I tried Rise of Flight briefly on Thursday and it seems like it'll be quite a bit of fun once I get the hang of things. There are some maneuver tutorial videos for the game on YouTube that are very well done that I need to check out.

I definitely need to go easier on the joystick. I have a habit of over-correcting, I guess you'd call it, and end up going too far in whatever direction I'm intending to.

If I like 1946 I will let ya know about the training; it would be really beneficial. I can watch YouTube videos but I'm sure having someone actually help me would be much better.

Do you have any other resources or recommendations when it comes to training/maneuvers (this goes to anyone reading this)?

That's one of the things that took me a while to learn. You have to have a light touch and limit any jerky type movement. You should also use your flaps throughout a dogfight like an accordion depending on your speed/fight style.

I basically exclusively fly the BF109 (F2 and G10 are my fav models), a plane which doesn't hold well to turn based fighting, but can climb fast and handle fast dives so I usually do Hit and Run/Slashing attacks in order to keep the enemy off my 6.

Youtube is okay, but nothing really compares to setting up quick missions, practicing your gunnery, and flying with actual people/trainers in order to learn/adapt.

Did you pick up the game and install HSFX yesterday? How was it?
