Flight sim paintshop?

anybody know of a flight sim aircraft repint program or something? i dont like finding the files n opening them up in photoshop, as i dont see it in 3d and im not sure how it will look once its layed out with all the curves and such. I really want to know because my father bought a cessna 172, in the middle of restoring it (its a 1962) and I'd like to do some paint schemes in fs because it would be cool to see it on the plane before we actually spray it. anyone know of one and where to get it?
