Flies are disgusting

I just killed a fly a few minutes ago and made a horrifying discovery.


Flies have red blood, after smashing this fly with a newspaper I noticed there was a repulsive looking red smear around the insect corpse. I never knew this before, do all insects have red blood?

I guess this means that spiders are true vampires.

No, all insects do not have red blood. Some have blues and greens.

Have you ever seen that place in Africa that has yearly swarms of flies so thick you can hardly see the sky, and the people there scrape them up off of everything and make a paste out of them and eat it? It is so disgusting because the flies are crawling all over these people and they just scoop them up off themselves and eat them.

Here's an oddity I've not been able to figure out yet... once there was a large sort of striped fly in the house, it was acting very strange, like it was having fits. Was finally able to hit it, and it was writhing with a bunch of little worms inside. I believe flies lay eggs though, right? So I'm not certain but perhaps it was 'used' by some sort of parasite, that has been my best guess to date.

Oh yes and I did notice the other day the fruit fly I killed had red blood too.

There is a type of fly I have seen that apparently, by whatever cruel twist of nature, cannot lay its eggs. It settles down in some place and the eggs hatch inside and the young crawl out. I'm not sure at what point in this process the parent dies, but they always seem poised for it. One time I found a plant (forget what kind, it was over ten years ago) with several of these flies all over it, all with that odd posture, with the young coming out of them.

the red blood is probably blood that the flies just sucked from you
so just take it back
