Flickering Problem with TV

I have a Philips 30" HDTV (30PW8420). Component is fine, some flickering but nothing that's unbearable. However, I get a large amount of flickering when I switch to HDMI. I'd like to make use of the HDMI so I can free up a component connection. I placed a call to Philips and they gave me some listings of places around here that can fix the TV. When the guy came out, he said nothing's wrong with it. He was pretty useless. Has anyone ever encountered a problem like this?
