Flex Installer

Hi guys, I just found this and tried it out today. Works nice. Question I have for anyone that may know is if I would need to uninstall from a client that I installed with flex? Do I need to physically go to that machine? Thanks.

I don't believe there is an uninstaller for it, so you will have to manually uninstall. But why would you ever need to? 😉

Thanks Ray. Well the reason is this. I have the OK to load Seti on a few systems at work. The catch is this, it can only be on systems where the person is on vacation and it has to be dumped when they get back. Well I have 5 people on vacation right now so I used fles to load on those systems and will have to dump it all before they return.

Another question. I am getting DSL tomorrow and wanted to set up my setiqueue to be used by my remote systems (using the no-ip DNS client) so I can keep track of which ones are running like they should. If I installed with the flex system to use berekely, can I just run it again with my info and have it install over itself or do I need to uninstall and reinstall? Thanks.

😎 on the permission at work. 🙂

I never tried it, but I suspect you could just re-install, and it would overlay what is there. NOTE: I do NOT know that for sure, just a SWAG.

If I were doing it, and it was only a few PCs, I would probably just edit the registry settings to modify the proxy information, rather than re-install. But that's just me. 😉

Good luck with it! 😀

The network admin of our parent company installed this for me back a year or so ago to help me win a race

at our other location. I remember him saying it did a service install so once they return you should be able to disable the service.

I have found that I can disable the service and then dump the folder. I can remotly dump the folder with the niftly hidden C$ but is there a way to remotly stop a service?

Never mind. The second I hit reply, I remembers the MMC! Added the snap in for the services and boom. I am all set!!! YEAH BABY!!!

Didn't IndyJaws use flex installer and some how have it set to start crunch after business hours and then stop at the start of the business day?
Just a thought😀

Flex does have that option.

I found a utility that will let me start and stop services remotly. It is called remote task manager. It is very cool. So I am all set. If all goes as planned I get my DSL line going tomorrow, I already have a DNS service going and set up all I have to do is refresh it. Then Friday I can install on quite a few PC's. Some can run 24/7, others will be after work hours. So I am about to pump up the jam a bit!!!!
