Flex-ATX cases? + nForce2?

I was eyeing the Shuttle/nForce2 up until a few days ago. A friend got one and had some serious issues with it, so I'm thinking that perhaps I would be better going with something a bit more flexible. Ideally, I'd like one 5.25"; I don't really care about external 3.5". AGP, and I don't need more than one PCI slot. Preferably midget-tower or "shoebox".

So I guess what it comes down to is that I want to get a "full strength" (non-ITX etc.) PC as small as possible without pinning myself down with Shuttle. Is Flex-ATX the way to go? Will I have trouble finding an nforce2 board that fits? Any specific recommendations on the case?

Thanks.
