Get you a Betty Crocker catalog. It's got all kinda stuff like that in it.

Oh, and don't forget to clip the Betty Crocker points off of stuff like cereal boxes, snack boxes, etc. That will save you some money. You may have a whole bunch of points in your cupboard right now and don't even know it!

And how do I know all of this? The wife, of course! :D

Ok - I found a set by Oneida for 42 bux shipped - 20 pcs for 4 people which is about what I need. It is listed as 18/8 stainless.

Is this good/bad/or ugly?
has 25 yr warrantee

Well the best type of flatware should be 18/10 stainless steel. It will last the longest. I'm assuming it isnt for fine dining or you would go with sterling silver. I actually found that Crate and Barrel has a pretty good selection of flatware. My fiancee and I registered for some there. As long as you like the pattern and the weight of the flatware go for it. Good flatware has a definitely heft to it when you hold it. Your local department store should have a selection of flatware as well.

Marshall's, Ross's, or one of the discount stores is a great place to look for flatware. Marshall's had a fantastic set of hand-forged flatware that'll last forever and look great for about $30, and something along those lines goes with everything and is unusual enough to stand out.

For the record, my favorite model is Oneida "Frostfire" if you can find some. Simple, feels good, easy to clean.

LOL Okay, in that case head over to Walmart and pick up the ten buck a set stuff - that way when one of you accidently throws a fork away with the can they've just finished eating out of it won't cost much to replace it. ;)

Shoot.. 42 bucks is too much for college kids! Just go to Wally World or Target or someplace else cheap. $20 is the most you should pay for 4 settings (two forks, knife, two spoons I think)You won't be keeping these things around forever, and chances are some of the stuff will get lost.
