I received a gift of a 45 pc, service for 8 set of flatware. I wanted to get a nice box to store it in and wanted to know what to look for. I'm going to search ebay but wanted to get some ideas here first.

Is there a particular brand of box that I should get? Is there any sort of material that I should stay away from? I plan on keeping it in display in my china cabinet and take it out for special dinner occasions.

I didn't even know what the hell "flatware" was until I wiki'd it. It sounds like a linux distribution or something.

Yanks and their crazy words...

I don't know if there's any sort of name brands on items like this, alkohoLiK. Usually, unless you're dealing with real silverware, you don't bother with a fancy box, do you? Or are you just calling the nice stuff by the cheap name?? ;)

I do remember my parent's set of silverware was in a wooden box with a velvet like lining, and that's pretty much it. Really one of those useless items anymore, since no one bothers using the good stuff except maybe 2x a year, and stainless steel flatware is the norm otherwise.

Sorry, can't be more help than that. :)
