I bought Flatout UC through Steam when it was on sale. Anyway when I click on play from Steam a Steam dialog pops says preparing to play then UAC pops up and click yes. Finally another Steam dialog pops up for a second saying Preforming first time setup 1 of 1. Then it just quits and nothing happens. I am running Windows 7 64bit. Does this game work in Win 7 64bit?

I had to run a file in the support folder for the game. I cannot remember the name, but I found it on the steam forum. You would think steam would have run that during the install. Thanks for the help.

I regret buying this game even for $2. I never ran into the problem that you are describing but the POS runs at 20fps with my q9550 and sli 2x g92 8800gts. Console ports suck balls.

I agree. Console ports always tend to suck with few exceptions.

Yeah fraps reports 14-20 with my computer at 1024x768 and 1280x960. Although my cpu is running at stock speeds. Was hoping after I get it back to the speeds in my sig it would improve since it seems to be cpu bottle necked on my machine with my settings. It is still pretty fun though, I think. For $2 anyway. what settings do you run it at?

I run at 1920x1200 but the setting don't seem to matter much, I get okay fps until the race starts, that's when it drops and stays at ~20fps. My sli indicator shows probably 30% usage split across both gpus... what a POS.

After some googling performance seems to be all over the place. Most get 20fps on all hardware even with a P4 and a 7600, but some get as high as 60fps without the need for highend systems. Just not a great port. I mean referencing the xbox controller buttons in the game and no mouse support on the PC version, really.

I play it with my C2D@3.2GHz/4GB/860GTS and it runs great.
I've played it on XP, and reinstalled it when I got W764 and it runs just as good now, if not better.
Never really had any problems with it, and I've played through the single player portion of it a few times now.
It's one of my favorite arcade style racing games ever. (Waiting for NFS:HP made by Criterion!)
