I'm thinking of getting a flat screen monitor to replace my old big bulky one, but my question is do I have to get a new video card or will my GeForce Ti 4200 be fine? Thanks.
 
is the ti4200 DVI-D or DVI-I? (I'm assuming D, as, IIRC, ATi was the first to ship a dvi->vga dongle, implying first to have dvi-i)

Iunno, maybe I'm drawing the wrong conclusions.

either get a VGA LCD (people say image isn't as sharp)
or an LCD that supports DVI-D. 🙂
