Flat Panel for Entertainment

I'm looking for a 17" flat panel monitor that costs about $1000. I'd like it to perform well (or even decently) in watching dvds and in gaming. I've narrowed my search to the Samsung Syncmaster 170T, the Syncmaster 770TFT, and the Viewsonic VG175. Any helpful comments?
