Its been ages since I posted here,

I know nothing about video cards, but this seem to be a decent deal.

Refurbed Gateway 18" LCD and a Geforce 3 Titanium500 for 699.99 Shipped. Plus there exists a $10 off coupon, so $689. If the video card's worth ~$100 on ebay, then this nets you a 18" lcd for ~600. I dunno, maybe its not maybe its not, but I just don't know jack about video. Oh it is a DVI interface.

It's a DVI LCD, so that rocks. It seems that 1280x1024 is a bit low for an 18" LCD, but maybe that's asking too much? Still seems like a damn good price!

1280x1024 is pretty typical for 17" and 18" (and probably even bigger) LCD monitors. You don't see 1600x1200 until probably $1500+. 🙁

i second that.

Update: $600 - 10% off overstock coupon = $540 shipped free is pretty decent for a 18.1" digital LCD, though refurbished.

pretty normal

how would this thing be for gaming? i know it matters on the response time, but what is a good response time on an LCD?

35ms response time is cutting it close for gaming. This is just an average though so the actual model may be better. I have not seen or used this monitor. Next week or so I am getting this monitor, it is a 17" but has a 25ms response time and is 521 shipped. There was a thread about a month ago on this monitor, people that purchased it said that gaming was good.
