I am preparing to install a Proliphix network thermostat ( www.Proliphix .com ) a weekly vcation rental house that I own . The cable company router is in a location makes it very difficult to fish wire though the wall up to the ceiling and back to the thermostat location . Also , I am having new carpet and pad installed anyway and it would be very convenient just to use flat cable if it would withstand the traffic . I would appreciate recommendations on this installation . - Thanks

IF you put along the tack strips around the outside edge, and put some tape on either side of it if it has to cross a door way it will be fine.

skyking - Thanks for the advice . There will be a run about 12 feet going under the middle of a busy room and one across the busy hallway and one across one door way to a bedroom .

An an option, you might inquire with your cable company about moving the MPOE (minimum point of entry) to a more convenient location? This might eliminate the need to do most or all of the interior custom wiring. Just a thought.

Good luck!
