Flat hoses

My folks bought one. Seems to work the way they say they will in the ads.

The work fine, not too much engineering behind a hose . . . hollow flexible tube that water travels through - it is hard to mess that idea up.

thank you for the feedback.

just search ebay for "flat hose*"

My biggest question was that I really only need a short length - do I have to uncoil the whole thing to use it? It just seems that if I didn't, there wouldn't be any room for the water to pass through since the coiled up section can't expand???

I would think that the endorsement of such hoses by fire departments would be pertinent information given the subject matter.

i would think you must uncoil the the hose in order for water to pass through it. i've heard the outer sheathing of some cheap flat hose tears easily if it gets poked by something.

I think maybe the only problem with flat hoses is you have to completely unwind them before you can use them. So if you have a 75' flat hose and only need to reach 10' you'll still need to unwind the whole thing.

^ What he said.

The reel is all nice and stuff, but to use the hose at all, you need to unwind the whole damn thing...

Some flat hoses are made of cloth (or something like that) and have to be unwound all the way to be used, some are made of rubber and can be used without unwinding.
