Whats a good LED flashlight in the $50-60 or so range that can use non-lithium 123a rechargeable batteries (like AA)?

I was looking at Surefires but I'm not sure I want to have to keep buying those lithium 123a batteries.

Oilight T25, Fenix L2D Q5.

<-- uses L2D Q5 as a helmet light, with low-self-discharge NiMH AA's.

If I were going to get a 123A-based light, I'd say the heck with it and get a Dereelight DBS v2 and some 18650's and charger instead.

i want something that will last about 10 hours or so. Not sure about brightness. I don't know what the difference is in lumens. I was looking at one of the Surefires that had 80 lumens and ran 12 hours.

something small that could fit in your pants pocket.

From all my research, I've concluded that Fenix flash lights are the best bang for the buck out there IMO.

The P series specifically it's really good.

They use the lithium's but you can get them pretty cheap online and they last so much longer from my experience then high output non lithium lights.

I have the P2D which is 180 lumens (turbo mode) and my brother in-law has the P3D which is 215 lumens (turbo mode).

Both are awesome lights, great build quality, really good battery life and they also have a couple of modes as well, such as low, medium, high and turbo as well as a strobe light and slower pulse modes.

I plan on getting the P3D next with an add on they offer to hold 3 lithium batteries, giving longer battery life and high output (though I don't recall the specific increase off the top of my head)

The L2D Q5 would do 10-12 hours at ~50 lumens while using rechargeable NiMH AA's (that's two settings below its maximum 180-lumen "Turbo" mode). If you want low-self-discharge ones, get Sanyo Eneloop. If you want the maximum possible capacity, get Sanyo 2700mAh.

The Oilight has a memory feature so it'll retain the last mode you used, which might be valuable if you want to use a lower-powered mode for long runtimes, but you switch the light on & off a lot. With the memory feature, you won't have to keep re-selecting the mode you prefer.

Flashlight collectors?

Who collects flashlights? I don't even think I've used one in the past 5 years.

I collect flashlights; my buddies think it's funny.

But when we go camping, no one brings flashlights because they know I'll bring some cool sh*t
