Flashing the bios problems

I done this a buncha times before and never had this much trouble. I have an ECS K7S5A and was having troubles with it hanging on restart so i went to the ECS site...downloaded the Flahser and the rom file...
copied them to a system disk...doing exactly like they say...
put the disk in my machine...start it up...
run the flashing program...looks like everything goes cool...and then it gets to "veryifying rom"..
goes for a couple seconds...then turns off the monitor and starts beeping...its still reading from the disk though so I wait a half hour and still nothing...so i turn it off and try clearing the CMOS...then turn it back on...still no signalto monitor...
still acting like it wants to read the disk...so i give it the disk...
its been sitting here beeping and reading the disk for the last hour....
anyone hear of this or have any idea whats going on????
please help!!!

So all it does is beep w/ no video even if you boot without the floppy in?

Sure you reset the BIOS properly w/ jumper?

May have killed the BIOS.

I have done a hot-swap w/ a BIOS to reflash a dead one before, but it is risky so I can't really recommend it unless you don't care if you kill the second one.
