Flashing Purple PS3 when trying to play mag

I purchased Mag today, put it in the ps3 and it said there was an update. I proceeded to do the update, but when it restarted/relaunched Mag it had a flashing purple screen. I have tried to restart several times and it continues to happen.

Here is a picture of it, the picture makes it look pink, but its really purple and flashes. I have never had any problems like this with my ps3 before. It is the 80GB non-bc ps3 also and using HDMI. http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/leglez/IMG_0288.JPG

Anyone have any suggestions on what to do or how to fix it? Is this a common problem?

I haven't had that same issue with MAG not sure. Other games are working okay? Your display settings correct?

Yeah everything else works fine. I just tried going straight from the ps3 to the projector and skipping the receiver, it worked fine. Got an update updated, then switched back to the receiver and it worked fine. But then I restarted and its back to a solid purple screen with audio now.

EDIT: If I boot up the game, then once the purple screen appears I can unplug the HDMI cable going into the PS3 and plug it back in. It will then switch to 720p and work, but it doesn't take up the full screen.

EDIT: Also if I change the output resolution from 1080p to 1080i it works fine, except for it being in 1080i and for it not taking up the full screen.
