Hey!
Sometimes the system files take up too much space, to be able to fit all the bios update files, you need to have some more space, you can do that by deleting some of the system files - correct?

I am curious which files are important to keep, I know IO.SYS and I believe it is COMMAND.COM is there anything else that is required to have a fully functional boot disk to enter MS-DOS in order to be able to perform a flash?

EDIT:
Obviously I haven't mentioned the actual BIOS files, but you know what I mean

I believe that you need IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS & COMMAND.COM .
I just use the Driver Free Disk For BIOS Flashing from www.bootdisk.com (DR-DOS) as I find it easier than making a bootdisk & then having to delete hidden files.

There's nothing to stop you using 2 floppies in the flash process though.

There is when you own 1 working floppy and you're literally flat broke until 25th november after buying a new computer - student ftl :)

IBMBIO.COM
IBMDOS.COM
Those are the files you get extra

So yeah, IO.SYS, COMMAND.COM and MSDOS.SYS

Thanks :)

& how many cents is a 3.5" floppy disc?
Perhaps a friend can lend you 1 or you can format an old 1?

Normally you also get a config.sys when you make a boot disk from XP & you don't want that.

Well, I exaggerated a little bit, anyhow, important thing is that I want it on one floppy, I guess you can always make 1 boot able floppy and slap the bios on another floppy, load with one, flash with other.
