I have an ECS k7s5a board and im about to flash the bios,i made a bootable floppy and put the .rom on it. Now,the website says :
Assuming that the floppy disk drive is A, put your bootable floppy disk in to the drive and reboot the system. After the system restart, you should boot into A prompt (A:>). Please type the following command after A prompt as follows.
A:>flashutility filename.rom <enter>

i.e. A:>aminf329 filename.rom <enter>

There should be a space between aminf329 and filename.rom.

The problem im having with this is that I dont have an aminf329 file or is it build in my bios or something? I need to know now since im running late.

I just updated the BIOS on an ECS board. I had to download both the BIOS and flash utility program. After extracting them, I copied them to the Win98 boot disk and rebooted. I then ran the flash utility and at the prompt entered the bios filename.

That was pretty much it.

Good luck!

Whatever you do, so shut off the PC or intrupt the update, it could mess the bios data and leave you with a dead PC. Make sure you have all the files and instructions before starting to update the bios.
