Some of you might have rememberd that i've been having problems with my 9800 Pro running at 8x APG, when at 8x the system would lock up freaquently. So I was on my motherboard site and noticed there was an update for the BIOS that improves the stability for AGP 8X graphic card. So I downloaded it and flashed my BIOS. Well I saw a bit of an improvement but it still locked up on 8x. So then I moved it back to 4x and tried playing a game and it just seemed more slugish than it use to be. Not sure if it was the BIOS upgrade or just me being parinoid. So is there anyway to go back to the previous version of the BIOS? Thanks.

what bios version did your board start with? and what one did you update to?

your link you provided shows more then just the latest bios?? also when updating didnt it ask you if you wanted to backup your current bios?

I started with which ever one came on the board. And no it never asked me if I wanted to back up my BIOS.

the board probably came with f3 unless it was a really early to the market then it might have shipped with an earlier version or if it was one produced later it might have an older bios version (boards ship with which ever bios version is current at the time it comes off the assembly line. which means that if there were lots of bios updated while the board is being produced, the shipping board will all have different bios version

if you dont know what version you started with, how do you expect to download it and restore to that version??

but the main thing is why are you wanting to go back? bios updates fix problems, just cause it didnt fix your particular problem doesnt mean you should go back

yes, it was F3. The reason I want to go back is because I feel like my computer is running more slugish that it was before I upgraded.

you can download F3 right here and then just use the same utility you used before to flash it

but its really not likely that a bios update would make your system more sluggish. bios updates usually just add support for new cpu's and fix other bios issues, but dont really have much to do with performace (well unless it fixes memory timing issues then it might be faster)
