Flashing bios on Msi K7pro

I need some advice:

I still have the original release bios. Since then there has been six updates. The new features I require now are in updates 2, 3, 4, and six. Do I update all in the series or will the newest update cover all previous updates. Updates needed for OS (2000) and CPU (1Ghz)).

BIOS updates are not cumulative. It replaces in entirety the code in the chip. Doesn't just patch the code. If you flash the latest you are getting the latest for everything. Just take care in flashing and you will be successful, however, you will be in a mess if not.

Thanks Robert K. So, the most recent update (release 1.8) will be used. I visited the MSI site and printed the "AMI flash bios procedure." It will be followed to the letter. I'll let you know about the results.

Hi Robert,
All is well that ends well. The latest version of the bios is installed and the new software and processor is not complaining. I was put on a bit of a merry-go-round for a while after the installation until I relealized the "del" key will get me off and allow me the opportunity to fine tune the "cmos"
