Ok, every I read about flashing the BIOS i'm told I have to make a DOS boot disk. I use win2kpro and therefore cannot make a DOS boot disk, so what's the best way for me to go about flashing my BIOS?

You're in luck. I just did this yesterday.

1) Go to www.bootdisk.com
2) Download DrDOS7x (Disk for BIOS flashing)
3) Launch that downloaded utility, creating a bootdisk (make sure you have a new floppy in A🙂
4) Erase autoexec.bat from that bootdisk
5) Copy the new BIOS and any other utilities you need to that disk (AFLASH.exe for ASUS)

That should do it. Just make sure you're using a new disk, follow the instructions carefully, and make sure to do the flash when you know power will not be interrupted.

Awesome, thanks man. One question though: are there any general utils (like a flashing utility?) I am likely to need? It'll be with K7S5A mobo at first.

Oh, make that two questions: do you know how the new BIOS installs from the floppy? Is it just a simple copy built into the flashing utility?
