Flashing BIOS errors Asus Live Update and AFlash221

Tried both Asus flashing utils and I get an unable to verify ROM after flashing. So I have to revert to my old BIOS ver 1003.

This is for the Asus P3V4X.

Are there any special steps I need to take BEFORE flashing the BIOS in the CMOS settings or anything, I've followed all the manuals I can find and nothing works. The only flashable BIOS file is the rev. 1003 which is my old backup file....I've tried rev 1005 and beta 1006.

if you have byte merge in your bios option change it ie if it's on, turn it off & vice versa then try reflashing!

And that did the trick! Successful installation of the 1006 rev beta 003 BIOS for my P3V4X.

Just got one of those Powerleap.com Tualitin P3 1.4 GHz chips and I needed to flash the bios for it. Now everything's working great!
