Flashing Bios effects?

If my computer is up and running, with all my programs already installed... will flashing the bios with an update effect/erase anything?

Usually, flashing the bios is not necessary unless there is a new update that fixes an issue that your motherboard is experiencing. Typically, the flash process works successfully, but there is a risk of it not working correctly - causing your system to not boot back up.

The flash process has no effect on your programs that you have installed. However, if the flash fails, you might not be able to get to those programs.
